Currently in final rehearsals for The Woods by David Mamet.
This is a very real, very familiar, I think for many people identifiable story of a couple – Nick (Jason Cavanagh) and Ruth (me) away for a short trip at Nick’s family holiday home where through dusk, night and morning, their dreams, flaws, relationship, baggage and selves are exposed.
Or as it is put more eloquently on the booking site :
“Deep in the woods and surrounded by its wild isolation, a young couple have nothing else but each other. Dealing with their high expectations, disenchantment and self-compromise, they are both brought together and torn apart.
The Woods presents a complete picture encapsulating the contemporary experience of love and companionship.”
